The slabs are fixed in place with visible clips, which are usually painted the same colour as the slabs so as to make them less obvious. This system only requires vertical uprights, the centre-distance of which is the same as the horizontal size of the slab plus gap. The slabs are usually fixed with aligned horizontal and vertical joints.
